Carl W. Abendroth
“My Dad, Carl Abendroth, was a real people person with a heart of gold. Whether it was a customer, friend, or complete stranger, he was never at a loss for conversation. As his Parkinson’s progressed over a period of about 15 years, his ability to communicate faltered to the point he could not speak coherently and then nothing but gibberish. But through his eyes, many times one could get a good idea of what he was trying to convey. Even then, he moved others in positive ways. He eventually lost all mobility as well. Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s are both terrible diseases that need to be overcome.”

To Grandaddy, a man who cared about people and the environment. He taught me so much, including how to fish and to play Gin Rummy. Always in my thoughts.

DEALER LOVED ONES

Thomas McDonald
“My grandfather struggled with Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s for over 15 years. He passed away 4 years ago. We would go fishing together when I was younger. The re-telling of a favorite fishing story would bring a light into his eyes, even as he progressed into the last stages. My wife and I support research for both of these illnesses and hope that one day we won’t watch our loved one struggle as we did him.”

Eleanor Yezuita
My mother, Eleanor Yezuita, passed away in September 2020 from Parkinson’s. It was horrible watching her deteriorate. I miss her every day! My ex Father-in-Law, John Lumley, a very good man, passed away from Alzheimer’s disease in 2010. So many have lives have been affected by these diseases … my heart goes out to each and every one of them.
